Research Journal Assignment #1

I have been involved in the art community for the last eight years. while at first, I was full of self doubt and frustration I have since realized the value of an arts education. I see art theory and fine art in general as a form of practiced philosophy. In this course I plan to right my paper on the function of art in the new millennium. I will pull from source that I came across in "art theory and criticism" and "Art of the Twenty and Twenty first century". I feel that art theory serves as a valuable additive to philosophy of consciousness, psychology, and sociology. Art and the artistic process can illuminate the subjectivity of perception and give tangibility to academic theories.
